ShoutOut Lounge: The Reborn
08/08/08.
The day ShoutOut was reborn.
This marks the beginning of a better, faster and much improved ShoutOut.
Introducing to you, ShoutOut Lounge, officially moved from its previous domain to ShoutOutLounge.com.
This still looks the same old ShoutOut, if you were wondering.
From the outside, there is not much different between the new and old ShoutOut.
But never judge a website by its mainpage.
In terms of speed, ShoutOut is much faster than before.
Lasker & Elise had switched ShoutOut to another server, ditching the old one which caused many problems.
There are also improvements in the ‘SO Design’ feature.
You can have as many SO Designs as you like and save them all under your SO account.
So you can change the style of the SO box in your website according to your mood of the day, or to suit the template of your website.
Think of a unique name for each and every design you created, as you just might see your newly created design being featured in ‘The Top-10 favorite Design’ on ShoutOut some day.
But for this feature to work, you have to embed the code of the particular design in your website.
Lasker & Elise also implemented the ‘Colour Auto Updater’ (i name it myself XP) in the SO Design.
This means that shouters can spend as much time as possible personalizing the SO box, and not worry about embedding the code each time they change the colour of the particular design, as it will be auto-updated.
One more new stuff in this upgraded ShoutOut is the ‘Alert’ feature.
You will be alerted everytime your name is called in SO where a thin coloured bar (the colour will depends on the colour you set in the SO Design) will appear at the far right of that particular shout where your name is being mentioned.
This feature will not work if the full nickname is not being typed or when you type your own name (but this will still function if stacked name like AlvinCcCcCc for AlvinC is being called)
Another small upgrade that comes together with the Alert feature is the name clicking function. Last time if I were to call a name of a particular shouter, I need to type out the name.
It is quite troublesome when typing longer names (thanks to those who registered such long nicknames).
But Lasker & Elise had found a solution for this problem.
So now if I wanna call a name, I just have to clicked the name of the particular shouter.
No more name typo error and no more fuss in typing longer names.
So this is how the improved ShoutOut looks like.
Log on to ShoutOutLounge.com to try out the upgraded ShoutOut yourself.
Experience the difference yourself.
